Tarah Probst is a Democrat running for Pennsylvania Senate District 40

I am running for Pennsylvania Senate representing Monroe and Northampton Counties because we need better representation in Harrisburg. I am the mayor of Stroudsburg and have made great progress in our town and in our region. I want to take my hard work, dedication and principles to Harrisburg to better serve the people of our region and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

I will fight for sensible tax reform that provides immediate relief and provides adequate funding for our schools. We need sensible economic development that supports living wages without putting additional burdens on taxpayers. I will work for quality education, for expanded access to affordable healthcare, and for protecting the rights of all our citizens. I will protect our beautiful open spaces and pristine waterways and will always fight to protect our environment.

I will work across the aisle to deliver bipartisan solutions for Pennsylvania's families.

Mayor Tarah Probst

Democracy depends on our ability to deliberate, compromise and find solutions.

My opponent, Mario Scavello, cancelled our originally scheduled debate on Blue Ridge TV 13, and had previously refused to attend two other candidate forums. Under pressure, Scavello reconsidered and agreed to debate me and our fellow candidate, Adam Reinhardt.
Candidates owe a public service to the voters to let them know where we stand on the issues.
I hope you'll take some time to learn about the challenges we face and how I will work hard for the people of the 40th Senate District.
